Well, I couldn't find any info on this forum about what type of synthetic oil to use, so I used 10w30 to fill my 98. Kmart didn't have Mobil 1 oil filters that fit my car, so I got a Castrol oil filter. Anyways, my car wasn't shifting well before (5000+ mi on regular oil change since the last time), but now it shifts a lot better. Also, my mpg was pretty bad the last few weeks, hopefully that will change after this nice new oil change.

Anyone know what type of Mobil 1 is optimal for a 4th gen? Hopefully I didn't use the wrong kind. thanks for da help!

 

Nissan recommends 5w30 oil for all temperatures, and 10w30 for ambient temperatures above freezing. Mobil One is good oil, but if you do use it, take advantage of your purchase and extend your oil change interval. Synthetics do not wear as quickly as normal oils do.
