Injector cleaner VS. Fuel system flush ???
i am trying to decide whether to order FP60 or some other high grade fuel injector cleaner, or just to take my new car to a mechanic and have them professionally flush the system.
i have read on here that a lot of you think that the "professional cleaning" is a ripoff - that one could accomplish just as much with a 30 dollar bottle of FP. then again, most of my friends seem to think that the flush is a far more effective way of clearing out the carbon and other residue that catches on your lines.
from what i understand, the mechanics flush is going to cost me just short of 100 bux. i could buy three gallons of FC for that price.
has anyone ever had the pro-flush done? is it worth it?
is it the same or better as an additive?

i mean i read the injector cleaner thread very closely. only once does it mention a fuel flush vs the injector cleaner, and that guy said it was a ripoff. i was hoping for a more detailed description of experiences people have had with having it done by a mechanic.

If I were concerned about my injectors I'd remove them and have them ultrasonically cleaned and tested. Marren, Witchunter Performance, and RC Engineering are all good vendors.
Any of the in-car treatments (flush or in-tank additive) are hit/miss in terms of effectiveness. You simply can't know how much difference it makes. My first inclination is that between those two, the flush should be more effective, but I don't have proof of that.
