Left & right side of engine?

I know there are threads about this, but I've been trying search today and it's not working.

Which are the left and right sides of the engine? I need to buy a new coil pack asap for cylinder #3 (misfire) and they keep asking me which side. The Haynes manual shows the cylinder #'s not "left" or "right".

It's the firewall side of the engine middle coilpack and thats cylinder # 3
your owners manual should have it on the back and the ordering fires example front bank is # 2,4,6, back bank is #1,3,5,

I'm not sure if i'm reading you wrong, but i think that you have it backwards. the right side is the firewall side, cylinder #'s 1,3 and 5. The coil you need is the middle one in the rear.

Yes I understand that cylinder 3 is middle back, but the parts stores ask me if I want the LEFT or RIGHT side coil pack (which is confusing because the engine is mounted transverse).

So you say the back (firewall) side is the RIGHT side? Or the CORRECT side? I'd rather not have to buy 2 and return 1. They're kinda spendy.

The right side of the engine is toward the firewall, the left side is toward the radiator.
