Labor/Parts Cost, Water Pump / CV Boots
Looking for some idea of how many hours (and maybe parts) costs should be for a water pump and a CV boot replacement. I won' be doing the work... trying to get an idea of reasonable cost from a mechanic or stealer.
Thanks,

When i paid to get my water pump done most places quoted me 500 to 550 (pepboys, and a few other places) but i ended up getting it done at midas for around 300. CV joint replacements are about 180 for parts and labor (and can be alil more if you don't shop around). So about $500 total.

yea midas charged me about 350 for the water pump on an accord. cv joints should be between 60 and 80 per piece. it may take them an hour on each side (although thats a little long) so ud be lookin at 550, maybe a tad higher. dont pay over 600 for these jobs.

new tensioner included in that price?
So is a new tensioner included in that price? Just curious, I just did the job and thought I saved alot of cash here.

Both belts will run you under $25 from nissan, you might want to go ahead and get a new tensioner beforehand as they almost always brake, I think it's around $40 from nissan. The serpentine belt, and even the tensioner, is childs play, I could do both in under 5 minutes, the ps belt on the other hand requires some dexterity, to say the least.
If ur doing it yourself I highly recommend following the steps in the fsm your first few times (read: using a ruler to measure the belt deflection) That way you are guaranteed to get it spot on and not have to do it all over agaiin, or worse waste an accessory or new belt.

belts.......
Good advice there from KRR, It's a DIY for sure, I'm not as good as him so it'll take me 20 minutes with futzin' and loosening rusty bolts, if your doing the PS belt too, without a lift, you'll be in there lefty and blind wrenching, add another 30 minutes for me since I haven't done it in a few years. Figure about $125 tops if your mechanic is greedy, $75. if he likes you.(New Jersey prices) Good guess KRR?
