I have low profile 215/45-17 tires that are smaller than most 17" tires that people on this board have. I want a nice drop that will will leave maybe 1"-2" of a gap on top. I don't want an extremely hard ride, but a little firm is nice (coilovers aren't for me - too harsh). I wanted the H&Rs, but is the drop too little with my tires? Anyone with my tires have them? I don't plan to change my struts. I know this topic is a little worn out, but I'm gonna buy them this week so just hold on and answer my questions if you can please. I also heard the Progress Springs have a 2" drop or something of the sort? What is best? How much can I get them from and where??? You can tell I need the drop from my pics .
Thanks in advance,
Cyrus

As usual, I recommend the Sprints. They are about the same stiffness as Eibachs, but noticeably lower. Since you arent changing struts, it doesnt matter which springs you get, they'll all bust the struts sooner rather than later.

I got mine for $150 shipped from Soutwest Auto Works, but I dont know if they're still in business.

RE: Sprints...

But if I get Sprints I will apparantly need a camber adjustment kit right? Where can I get one from and how much are they?
Thanks,
Cyrus

Nope, no camber correction needed. Mine went to factory specs with no problem at all. Only people who dont actually have them will tell you a camber kit is needed.

Sprints with a 2" drop and not getting struts might not be a good idea. The sprints are definately the drop that you want with your tires, but I don't know how long your stock (and old) shocks and struts will last.

Maybe just save your cash and do both parts at once? Or maybe consider other springs.

Sprints and Struts...

You're right breaux124, I need to get struts because of the 2" drop. I'm definitely gonna get the Sprints - my tires are so small that if I don't it will still look like my Maxima is a 4x4. Well, I guess I'll just have to wait until CustomMaxima.com has another deal on the Konis...I love them and CustomMaxima has the best prices I've ever seen. Are they the best with Sprints?
Thanks,
Cyrus

RE: Sprints...

Do you guys think even the Sprints will look good on my car? It's like a 4" gap (I don't know why I got these tires). Also, does it look weird that the front is lower than the rear of the car with the Sprints? Most springs have a lesser drop at the rear wheels, but the Sprints are equal. Is it supposed to look good while you drive or something?
Thanks,
Cyrus

Does anybody know where I can get Sprints cheap? Nopi.com E-Cat has it for just about $180. Thanks in advance,

If Southwest Autoworks didn't go out of business yet, you can get them through www.maximadriver.com for $120. If you're going with Sprints I would highly recommend getting new shocks because the stock ones won't last very long. Have you considered getting Apex springs? They lower the car by 40mm and you don't have to buy shocks for them.

RE: Apex Springs...

I have heard of them but I don't know too much about them. How many inches is 40 mm (not good with measurements)? Where can I get them and how much $$$? Thanks in advance,
Cyrus

apex are a 1.6" drop. they are not as soft as h&r's but not as hard as eibachs or sprints. they will lower your car more than the h&r's and the eibachs. if you want to keep some of your ride go with the apex springs. any lower than 1.7" drop you on a maxima will need a camber kit.
