I am having trouble choosing which kind of rims id like on my 96 maxima gle. The choice im going towards is the konig tantrums, but i went to discount tire and the guy there said i cant put 18" cuz itll brake the wheel well cuz it has no cushion on potholes. He told me stick wit 17" which i think are to small,i also want thin tires for the nicer look, please give me some advice on what type of size, tires and wheels i should get, i dont care much if its a rough ride as long as it looks nice. And if anyone knows any sites where they have konig tantrums for sale please inform me.

Nothing will happen with 18"s, over 40% of this forum's members have 18" with a 1"+ drop and none of them have had problems. My local place said I should be able to put 19" on with no problem. Just trying to helo .

I say get what you want. I have 17's but if I would have known what I know now I'd have gotten 18's. There is not much difference between a 17" and 18" wheels besides the price. You won't notice any difference in the ride. Check out these websites for more info:

How did you arise at this number? Is there a FAQ where dot org members have stated their rim size that I haven't seen?

I would contend that percentage would apply much better to 17" rims than 18s.....but I'm ignorant as well....

My local place said I should be able to put 19" of with no problem.
Members here have had success with 19" rims and even 20" IIRC......The 19s still allow a drop while the 20" are pretty much physically impossible....
