I just installed the Addco Anti Sway Bar and the Courtesy Nissan FSTB. Wow, I can't believe how much better the performance is after these two quick and easy Mods! Money well spent.

I just installed the sway bar from addco today. The installation is very easy except i was sent a few brackets that were the wrong size! so i had to file them down to the right size which added about an hour on to the install time...assuming you get the right parts, the install should be a breeze.

that feel so much better... just wait about a week then you'll forget they are on there and want new shock/springs also.

RE: F.S.T.B....

Did you put the F.S.T.B. on with a torque wrench? If not, how did you know how far to tighten the nuts? I am getting one next week and I don't have a torque wrench. Thanks.

RE: F.S.T.B....

I would say torque wrench would be your definite bet, but if I don't know how much to tighten, I would loosen one nut and try tightening to see what it feels like or just try to tightend any of the already tightened nuts to see what it would take to tighten more. Hope that wasn't too confusing. So basically you would have to feel for it. Which in my opinion, is not very accurate. perhaps tighten it enough with just a regular socket wrench and then go to a trusted shop that use torque wrenches and see if they will torque it for you or just have them install it. But other than that, it's pretty easy. INstalled my FSTB in 10 min, and RSB in about an hour because I did it on the ground. Oh, the side brackets to the Addco Sway bar needs to be slid on from the back side of the trailing arm towar the front to get them on. Otherwise they will get stuck or you can just put them in. The trailing arm has these really small dimples on the top and bottom edges so it's a pain. Ended up taking one wheel off on each side to do each side at a time after the centers were done.

?? you had to take your wheels off to attach the RSB, i didn't have to do that and mine turned out fine, i mean the space was a little cramped, but I don't see why you woudl need to remove the wheels

You dont NEED to take the wheels off, but I had to install mine 2 times since the first time I did it I had the brackets on the wrong side of the bolts on the trailing arms. The first time I did it with the wheels off because I was also replacing the brakes. The second time it was a tight fit to get your hand and fingers in there but you can do it with out taking them off.

At least for me, I initially thought that they sent the wrong brackets. The brackets for the side arms have holes that are space a few mm's further away than the two for the rear beam. I didn't know that and installed the rear beam brackets first, and found that the side ones wouldn't quite fit. After switching the two pairs, all was well.

Although it is a great mod, I'm thinking that for a bar, some brackets and bushings, that that's quite a lot to pay ($140). I guess making one specifically for the smaller Max market costs some... but it seems to be about $25 in parts...

If you thought the Addco was expensive, the Stillen one is over $200 I think. Also I took off the wheels one at a time so it's a bit easier to get the side brackets attached, that's all. I didn't hav enough room, too tight to install. BUt I tightened all the bolt with the car on the ground.

you can borrow a torque wrench from trak auto or perhaps a pep-boys. i borrowed one from trak auto. it shouldn't cost you anything (they reimburse you when you return the wrench)
