a 95-96 and a 97-99 max. i heard they different (i think).

some cosmetic

differences like the front grill and rear bumper is longer and rear lights....97-99 has better crash safety but also more restrictive so less power than 95-96

97 maxes have a new front bumper new foglights,headlights,grill,trunk,rear bumper, taillights,there 200 pounds more aprox.,new wheels,new steering wheel,updated Bose head unit design,rear center seatbelt,rear 60/40 fold down bench,new rear head rests,in 98 there were 2 new options a traction control {auto} system ans side airbags.More emission contol crap and I believe the tweters were mounted differently.I think thats about it did I miss any thing anyone?

Mainly front and rear changes and wheel changes. Also, they made the bumpers better in low speed collisions and reinforced the car for side impact. I don't quite think it's 200 pound heavier, but maybe 100.
