cutting off cat converter

anyone cut their cat converter off? if so any power gains, or does it sound any deeper?

what do you mean exactly? running it open? replacing it with a straight pipe? either way, you may recieve some HP gains, like 1-2. if you replace it with a straight pipe, it might get a little louder, just barely(depending on what muffler you have). but if you cut it off and run an open pipe, it should be quite loud.

I meant run straight pipe. what do you mean run open?? just cut it off there and leave it like it is??

yeah, thats what i thought you meant by cutting it off. running a straigt pipe is a debabtable mod. there has been no dyno sheets to prove anything and some people who do have them have said its the same as stock, where other owners say it has made the car louder and faster.. so i think you have to try it yourself.
