Auto shifter removal

Does anyone have instructions/links on how to remove the shifter from an automatic 4th gen? Thx.

Its easy. Put car in last gear, pull up e-brake, shut car, remove screws in front of the shifter. Pull up, and catch the spring the pops out the side. Cut wires with enough lead to run a switch or run to new shifter. This should take no more then 5 minutes.

Thanks! I only took a quick look at the shifter and didn't realize there were screws, so I wasn't sure what to do. I love this place.

Replacement Auto Shift handle??

Bill,
What Auto shifter handle did you use as a replacement? My factory shifter handle seems to be broken between the O/D button and the "T" and the rubber and release mechanism are holding it all together. Dealership wants 390 for whole assembly.
