Virginia Represent...

I'm down south in the Portsmouth/Virginia/Va Beach area, but I know there are about 6 or 7 people up in the Arlington/DC area. My dad has a place up there so I go there once in a while. I think I am the only Maxima owner down here though ...

RE: 92ZexMaximaSE...

When are you leaving? I am in Portmouth - you're the only other custom Maxima I've heard of in the area. I know Wesleyan College real well, I work at the NDC/Sentara hospital off of Virginia Beach Blvd. Where do you go for your performance equipment? Performance Auto Salon? Anyways, nice to hear of another Maxima in the area (even if you won't be here for long). Later,
Cyrus

I live in VA Beach near VWC too. My Max doesn't look any different from a stock 5G though, but then again, I think I've only seen one Maxima around here with anything aftermarket on it, and that was a Pep Boys performance muffler, so I really didn't bother talking it up with him. I'd be interested in a VA meet too, maybe even something in Hampton Roads? Wouldn't mind just going for a drive around VA Beach hunting ricers either...

RE: nc00max...

Where do you go for your local performance needs? Do you put the stuff on yourself? Or do you go to Performance Auto Salon, Japanese Auto Masters, or Lee's Tires? I am in Portsmouth (hunt ricers in VA Beach all the time), and I need a realiable shop! Performance Auto Salon just doesn't cut it (all rice boys there)! Thanks,
Cyrus

Well, so far everything I've got I put on myself, and I'm having Tread Masters over on Little Creek & Mil. Hwy do my UDP tomorrow. I don't have any extensive mods yet anyways, and will probably have to stop where I'm at now (no more money for John!). I've got the FSTB, RSB, y-pipe, and OSCAI. Haven't needed a performance shop yet, but I'm sure that'll change eventually. If all you have are a few of the simpler bolt-ons, I'd be happy to help you with the install. If you want a shop to do it, the guy at Tread Masters seemed alright and was more than happy to do my UDP. I'll see how that goes tomorrow...are you going to Maxus?

Charles City, VA. It's right outside of Richmond, VA. I'm usually in Richmond on the weekends. Flomax is from Richmond.

Well, I know a bunch of us live around Hampton Roads, but I think it'd be nice to include our Richmond friends as well, and those up north too if they wanna come. Anyone have any suggestions? I figure a weekend would be best for everyone as far as scheduling, but as far as location goes, it'd depend on how far everyone's willing to drive. My thoughts are on Williamsburg since it's not too far for anyone. If everyone can let me know what they think as far as location and time, I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks!

I called Performance Auto Salon and they were sooooo expensive.. I asked about a Greddy exhaust and they wanted around $600 for it.. And they wanted about $150 for a K&N filtercharger. Eibach springs were going for around $400.. I got my exhaust put in at a local muffler shop on Holland Road which also installed the Y pipe and RT Cat install. Now that I see how they did it, I should have done it myself and saved some bucks.

I know this post is over 10 years old now but I live in the 703 area (manassas, va to be exact) and for you guys that live in VA as well with performance y-pipes (i.e. Stillen, Warpspeed, Cattman, etc.), how were you able to pass emissions with those pipes installed?? How did you accommodate for the pre-cats and main cat deletions?? Someone please help me because I really want to upgrade my exhaust!!!!

This post belongs in the REGIONAL section.

to answer your question, y-pipes do not cause CEL issues. Its well documented, jus SEARCH. Might get a tad bit louder from "bees in can drone"
