This is prob a dumb question, but this is the situation:
I've "balded" out my stock tires (215 55 R16)on my SE-L at 45K mi. Is that the only tire size I can get for my 16's? OR - is it possible for me to get a 225-50 R16? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I refuse to have my Max sittin' on baldies anymore...lol. Thanx in advance ladies and gents.

Much respect,
Mr99Maxima

p.s.: I got my first mod (well maybe my second)...sylvania cool blues (don't laugh). They're pretty bright...hehe.

RE: Tire Sizes...

Yes, you can put a 225-50 R16 tire on your car. It will be a little wider and shorter than your stock tire, so it will look good because it is wide, but it won't look good because it is short (I know lower profiles don't look good on the huge Maxima wheelwell - I have them). Just trying to help .

Yes, if you have stock rims you can upgrade to 225/50R16. The side wall will look the same as the 215/55R16's....just that the tread is a little wider, more grip. I have 46k on my car too and I will prob get Kumho Escta's 712 in 225/50R16 in a month or so...

Cool, cool! Just in these responses, it sounds like a go, so my Max won't be sittin' on baldies...hehe. I just didn't want to have to worry about rubbing or anything like that. Thankx again

Just curious, what kind of tires are you going to get?

Be careful with those bald tires in the wet. The grip is terrifying, so little that the car starts sliding on a whim.

nothing fancy...some "tiger paw" somethings, but i believe they're z rated though (of course, if the tire is cheap, i guess that won't mean very much). they're not very expensive though. i just need something with some "tread"...hehe. luckily, i don't have to worry about wet roads at the moment (i'm in cali). i should have them saturday afternoon, then i'll let you know exactly how "cheap" they are...lol!

hmmm I think thats Uniroyal Tigerpaw or something... check out www.tirerack.com and check out the reviews of tires... it really helps and it can get you a great set of tires for a great price also what are you looking for? all out performance or a combo of all season ride and treadlife?
and dont go too low profile unless you have springs... maybe 225/60-16s it would look not so cool if you did that... the gap would be huge
