My friend just bought a 2001 Accord Coupe EX with a V6 and auto yesterday. When he is done breaking it in, we are going to have to race.
What are my chances with a 96 Auto SE?
I believe the Accord has something along the lines of 200HP.

I'd call it dead even... the Accord will do 0-60 in 7.8 and thats what most people claim for the auto Max... if you had a few mods orthe VB upgrade it'd be hands down you also have a GLE which is heavier

before u race leave ur sparetire at home( unless u feel safe with it )and have less than half a tank of gas and get a good start off the line and u should win.

RE: Accord Racing...

I don't know about your case, but here's as close as I can come. My brother has a 1995 Honda Accord V6-EX 4-door sedan, with a good number of mods (CAI, cat-back, sway bars, etc.). I have raced him a few times and I have beaten him in straight acceleration every time. He ALWAYS comes up on corners, and I know that were we racing a strictly curved track he would kick my *ss. However, I always have acceleration on him. I know he has a different engine and chassis from the car you are racing, but I though maybe it might help .

If you had a stock max, other than a quality valve body upgrade to your auto tranny...you would win. Your shifts would be nice and crisp while his nice and SOFT, which doesnt do any good racing. So, you would win. (unless of course you dont know how to use your foot)

You are very wise Sexima.... I never thought of taking a pic of it at night... Once the sun goes down and when my friend comes over i will take some pics of it from close and far... I like the altezzas but they are seriously made out of cheep material... I know that the altezzas look good on the maxima and they shouldn't have made it for the hondas becuase it just looks unporportional...

now this is what i would like to know, since i drive both. I got a '97 GLE I leave it in the garage with the garage door closed all the time since I'm afraid that it will eat my accord that I park outside in front of the garage...
Has any one actually raced a EX-V6 and won with-out flooring it... don't get me wrong the max feels faster and shifts better at high RPM's but by how much does the accord lose by???

I love my Max.. thought you should Know...

Jesus christ! Some people are madmen! 80k miles on a 1998? WTF? Do you drive across state daily or something? I couldn't imagine putting 80k miles in 3 years!
