Hey guys im currently in a 90SE but considering trading up to a 96-98 Maxima my question is this:
Do all the models come with that wood trim or are any of the models lucky enough not to have it,,,also if they have it how hard is it to put carbon fiber kit on it
Thanks

If you are gonna put an aftermarket kit on anyway, I don't think it will matter whether the car comes with wood or not. You can just yank the wood off and recover the dash with the carbon fiber. I'm with ya, though; I hate wood in cars, too.

This is kind of a similar question, has anyone put an aluminum kit over the plasti-wood on the GLE? I'm just wondering if it would cover it all up, or if some would still show through.

stock wood dash

[Not sure about all years, but on 96 the wood dash for the gle is not really wood, the plastic peices are the same ones, only colored with the wood scheme. Really cheap. Replacing this is the same as putting a dash kit in any max.

I went with a carbon fiber kit from Joshua Tree and it came out nice.

No Maxima is offered with wood. I think plasti-wood comes in some models.

plastic wood

I have a 96 se with all the options, with no wood trim ( so i guess I don't have 1 ).. I have a black car with black leather, and if I had some funky brown ty-dye plastic on my dash it would just ruin it all.
Also the aluminum kits ( imo ) they good in like the little honda racers, but I have yet to see one that looks good in a maxima, if someone has a pic of one that actually looks good on the car please post it.

I think the Aluminum dash kit looks good with a black interior. I saw at least one person who had it at the SF meet, and it looked a lot better than I would expect. I question it on a Tan interior though. . . Grey would also be questionable, but it look nice w/Black

I've been considering what to do about the interior dash/console...wood, aluminum, carbon? I think all I want is the aluminum shift gate--I have an auto
not unlike the 2K mMax or I30. It won't fit, tho, so I have to custom make one or something. Still considering options.
