I recieved a Cattman y-pipe that a member of this forum sold me. It is unused and has all the gaskets, stickers, and instructions from Cattman. My only concern is that this pipe has no flex section. It does however have a section that rotates and slides in and out. I have some pics attached. Tell me what you think. Does anyone else have a Cattman pipe like this? This does not look like what is on the web page. Any help or comment would help.

here is the second pic of the rotating piece

The this piece just slides in and out. Does not look like it would leak, but might need to be welded down just in case once installed

Looks hinky to me but I don't rightly know what the purpose of a pipe without a flex section may put on the pipe itself. You may torque it right in half. I just put my Warpspeed SS Y-pipe in and it moves quite a bit in rotation ...or at least it does move some when you get on the gas. Use with caution...it looks close to size but be forewarned...it may be subject to break...good luck

I heard back from the org member i bought the pipe from. He explained that Cattman made a number of flexless pipes in order to lose the hissing noise. Supposedly this has accomplished that goal. As for the torque twisting, the pipe does give a little and twist in side the pipe. It is very well made. I guess I will try and install it as is.

Do the cattman pipes work with the stock bolts, or will the shop have to find some to fit?

Yes that is a Cattman pipe. Brian used the slip joints to remove the bees. He did stop making them over the concern that they do not flex enough...so he went back to the flex. So I would not weld that pipe any.

Read this before you install..>

Greg had the first Cattman's Y-pipe with no flex and he complained about vibration. In version #2 they added the flex and that made all the difference with the vibration issue. You might want to call Cattman and get him to send you a flex section for $70 and get it welded in.
