Well, after some tense moments of things coming together at the right and wrong times, it's all squared away and written in stone. Closed on my loan and took the payment in full to the dealership today. I've had the car for a few days (they wanted to get it on months end, wrote a personal check that they held)...getting used to things. It's a big switch from an integra It feels weird to have ample torque for a change. Not to mention tons of other little things. Not gonna go on about the details cause everything should be in my new sig...

I'll have pics when I can borrow my friends digi again. I'm basking in smooth glory though...heh...I can't get over how when I'm at 2k in 4th, I'm going 40, and when Im a shade past 2500 or so, I'm going 50. I'll probably use 5th gear like, twice a month at this rate

PV89SE - I think I paid a little on the high end, but I haven't seen but like, 2 5-speed SE 95-97 maxi's come through what I normally scan (autotrader within 200 miles, local newspaper classifieds search online) in 2 months. This was one of those two. It's in pretty good shape - the interior is very clean and there's one small puncture in the rear passenger-side door panel leather. Exterior is pretty clean but has a few scratches and a handful of small touched-up areas (the front especially, but in nebraska, every car gets chewed up in the winter up there).

Paid $11k for it. They started at $11,9. The base value on edmunds/kbb is right around $10k, but this one had all the options...things that neither of those even had selectable...and was just above $30k new. I was hoping for $10,5, but paying a couple extra hundred for a more rare car isn't a big issue to me.

Auto trdaer..

yea auto trader is a pretty good source of whats out in your area and I like how the online version can break it down by highest to lowest price and all. I still have a couple of months before I really decide wether to sell my beemer and look around foe a good deal. Enjoy the ride (and your new car!)

Hey congrats, but you better stop driving your max in 2nd gerar doing 50mph. This is not your integra, lolz you cannot shift geras at 7,8 rpm in the max or else yo will be spending some good amount of $$$ on fuel. Let the mods begin, enjoy your new car.

umm...
I said when I was in 4th, at 2k rpms. And it's actually 50mph at a shred below 2,500 rpms. I'll never hit fifth gear in this thing at this rate.

I found the same thing to be true -- the KBB and Edumnds values seemed to be much lower than what they're actually selling for. I just bought a 97 SE, totally loaded, from a private party, for $13k. Blue book retail is not much more than this. I haven't seen the exact car at dealerships around here (Central OH), but from my research it would probably sell for at least $15k.

As far as Edmunds is concered, I don't think their "True Market Value" is very true at all. I sold my 2k Accord coupe for more than their dealer price, and it seems way off on the Maxima also. I think the only real gauge you have is what comparable vehicles go for in your area -- and no book will tell you that.

Congrats on your new Maxima. Hope you're enjoying yours as much as I am mine.
