Heres how it all happened

One day my moms caravan's transmission broke down. So we took it into the local "AAA transmissions" shop.

I got to talkin' to the guy about my maxima and racing. I asked him about a VB Upgrade for my tranny and he told he could do it for 180. Surprised at this low price, I asked what materials they use and what they do to the Valve Body. He said he uses the finest materials from some company (I forgot) and he goes into the VB and changes various things in it. So I told him about Don's Mobiletek upgrade and that he charges 400+ and others charge even more, and he said that was too much and that he'll do it for 180!? Well, thats something you dont let pass you without ALL the details.

The best part about this is theres no shipping, I just drive it down their and wait while its being done. I live in Central Florida, but i'm sure theres a AAA shop where you live.

When I get some free time, I'll go down their and talk more to him about it, and get all the info. This could turn out to be a great thing.

P.S. For people wondering about Auto --> Manual Conversions he charges 800 for the labor.

Perhaps this fellow will install a TransGo shift kit in your Maxima valve body. This is similar, but not equivalent to the Mobiltek valve body upgrade. See http://www.txchange.com/transgo.htm for more information on TransGo.

You may do a Search on TransGo and find postings from people who have driven both, and read their impressions.

I will ask him about that. I will bring info to compare to his upgrade.
