What you need:

1.)the VB (duh!)
2.)jackstands
3.)jack
4.)oil pan or something that can collect 8 quarts of fluid
5.)goggles
6.)gloves
7.)10 and 18 MM socket wrench
8.)Don's instrctions
9.)a place to place all the different types of bolts
10.)some towels
11.)some brake cleaner
12.)about 2 gallons of tranny fluid
13.)something to lay on
14.)10 mm wrench
15.)screwdriver (phillips and flathead)
16.)a second pair of hands is nice, but it is possible to do the install yourself.

A few hints:
1.)Make sure the car is cold, tranny fluid can hit more than 300 degrees.
2.)DRAW A DIAGRAM!
3.)The harness that is supposed to come out of the car is connected to the main engine room harness near the upper drivers side engine mount. Take off the stock intake (all of it including the air intake resonator) and the harness is a brownish thing in between two gray ones back there. If it doesnt come off, then you will have to install the VB while the harness is in the car, making it harder, but not impossible.
4.)CLEAN EVERYTHING, including the bottom of the magnets in the car.
5.) Count EVERYTHING two or three times
6.)When you are all done, enjoy chirping second gear.

VB

Now the VB is only for standards correct? I was not really sure what it does and thats what I was looking to find out. Out of curiousity more than anything. Oh you may want to add lemonade or maybe a sprite to the list. Not neccesary but usually recommended.

The VB is for AUTOMAGICS only, not 5 speeds. Secondly, I actually had 4 Dr. Pepper's so I guess I have to add that to the list.

17.)A 6 pack of Dr. Pepper.
