Best way to feed cooler air to pop charger?
I was thinking about getting one of those plastic flex tubes, to move some cooler air up to my pop charger. What's the most effective way to put this thing in my engine bay to get cooler air flow? I would like some info on where to aim outside air in, and how to lead it up to my pop charger. Anybody notice any difference in performance?

feeding a tube may help a little but I doubt you'll notice that much difference.

I've got a hose...
I bought a 2.5"X7' vacumn hose from Sears. I ran the hose from under the nose (twist tied to the tow hook). I snaked the hose between the two splash guards (a little trimming). I then sanked the hose up and around the battery and aimed it directly at the intake. I tested the efficency of the hose with a Vornado fan set on high. I aimed the fan right at the hose inlet (~25mph wind) and there was a good stream of air blowing out. It keeps the filter a little cooler on really hot days. I gonna make a alumnimum heat shield that will incorporate the inlets of both the stock intake system and my hose inlet.

My friend and I made a custom ram-air intake out of aluminum rain gutter for his 86 GTI. We put a huge mouth (4"x8") on the end and mounted it under the bumper, and then ran the gutter up to the airbox. We were bored...
Cooler Engine Bay
I did the same with my 89 mazda 626 and i noticed the engine runs slightly cooler. The fan to my radiator doesn't go off anymore when the car is on and the temperature on my instrument cluster is not in the middle like it is supposed to be. Be for I stick a hose in the my 97 maxima, I want to make sure it doesn't effect my mileage and fuel efficiency as the car may want to burn more fuel to warm up the engine. As for the results, my acceleration is smoother and faster. But then my 626 is an 11 year old car, 130K miles driven, and 2.2L 4 banger. The Maxima is a 3.0L V-6 which is already very smooth.
