What about the y-pipe makes the "bees in the can" noise." I just installed my cattman pipe and rt cat in connection with my Greddy catback. I think I have the bees in a can sound. I was under the impression that the flex section made this noise under acceleration. But I have the proto type pipe that does not have a flex section. I get this buzzing like a beatup old peice of **** v6. What could be making this noise if I do not have a flex section? Could the rt cat be on backwards? Any experience would be great.

Check for leaks around the Y-pipe. Make sure there isn't a hole anywhere. Make sure that all the flanges are tight.

Also, is the noise only when you drive? Or is it at idle too? Rev the engine in park or neutral, do you still hear it?

thanks for the advise!

It was a leak just behind the RT cat. I put the car on ramps and felt the air blowing. I have had it fixed already and it works greats. Damn it is loud though. No noise from the flexless y-pipe at all!! Just the Greddy.

Glad to hear that you got it fixed.

Yeah, I've heard that the Greddy is loud, especially with a Y-pipe and intake. If you want to quiet it, try the stock muffler with a b-pipe.

I'm not sure how the greedy works, but you might just be able to remove the greddy muffler and put the stock on back on, and I doubt that you'll lose any performance. It's the B-pipe that is more important.

I took it back to the muffler shop that installed the pipe. I think they just had to adjust the gasket. It cleared right up.

I have to take it all back

I just checked where the leak had been and it is still there. It is not as big but it is still there. When I bought my RT cat from custommaxima.com it came with no gaskets. It does not look like I have a gasket on the catback end of the converter. The gasket connected to the y-pipe is very visible. Should I get another and have them replace it. Should I be able to see the gasket?
