Are 4th gen. stock REAR rotors vented?
#1
I bought my 1998 SE used, and its rear rotors are not vented. I can't remember the last time I saw that. Is that stock?
After replacing the fronts, I still have a slight sensation of warped rotors, so I was planning on having the rears cut. But if they're garbage to begin with, I don't want to spend $20 having them cut when in 3 months I'll have to shell out for a new pair altogether.

Rear brakes on the car don't do as much braking as the fronts do. The split may be something like 30-70 70% being done by the front brakes. That makes for much less heat on the rears. So rears usually don't have to be vented or cooled.
If you still have a slight shake after new rotors were installed, my question is Did you have them cut on the car after your installation? That will insure the rotor will be true to the hub. If you did have them cut, then perhaps the rears do need some attention as well.
Hope that helps

No need to get rotors cut...they warp too easily. They are really thin already, and when you cut them, they don't have enough integrity to withhold the heat from braking. Thus, they lose their shape.
Just get new ones for like $20 each at a local parts store.
