My check engine light came on a few days ago. Ijust finished checking it and it was 0505...no failure detected
When i started my car, i hear the normal chimes the car makes from the key being in the ignition, but this morning i heard a different higher pitched chime and it beep for a longer period of time than the normal chime, but the normal chime sounded also.

I hope my explanation is clear...
HELP

The Check Engine Light means one or more Diagnostic Trouble Codes were stored. When you did a DTC readout there were no Codes. Perhaps you inadvertently reset the Engine Control Module in attempting to do the readout. Don't be embarassed, this has happened to lots of people. When the CEL comes back repeat the readout process.

Mine does that every once in a while, but no drivability problems. Happened twice so far.

Information pertaining to Diagnostic Trouble Code 0704 may be found in the Sticky ECU Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor has nothing to do with the dashboard temperature gauge reading.
