You may have disturbed the Mass Air Flow Sensor in the process of installing the intake. Read the Sticky ECU Diagnostic Trouble Codes for a pointer to instructions for resetting the Check Engine Light. If the CEL comes back you will have to do a Diagnostic Trouble Code readout.

I wish I had a dollar for every post on this forum reporting a problem which arose after installing a mod. In some cases it is a bad mod; in others it is a botched installation.

Mr. Martin, your input here is very valuable. And I can agree to it, BUT- is that line necesary? It just leaves a bad taste.

Yes, it's necessary, and here's why. Lots of Maxima.Org members have installed mods. Many others are considering doing so. I want to warn those who are at the "considering" stage that it might not be as fast, easy, and trouble-free as the seller says.

Everything in this world has a price tag attached, and the price is not always expressed in dollars. Sometimes it is labor hours. Sometimes it is heartburn.

That "bad taste" is a friendly warning. Stay away from mods or be prepared for some aggravation. There is always some risk. The simplest 4Gen mod I know of is the Front Strut Tower Brace. Even with this mod some unlucky owners have snapped off a strut tower stud. Not a pretty picture.

In conclusion, I accept your admonition but will continue to warn people.
