I got home tonight and was running really low on gas. When I got out I heard a noise that I have never heard from my car before. It sounded like a humming noise coming from by the fuel tank. It was a solid humming noise for about 4 minutes, then it just stopped. Was this the fuel pump? I just replaced the fuel filer but that shouldnt have anything to do with the noise coming from the back of my car should it. When I put my head under the car the noise seemed to be coming from the fuel tank. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks

Yes, that was the only time I have ever noticed it. The tank was pretty low. The gas light had been on for 20-30 miles. Anyone know what the noise was? Please help,
Thanks

I would have to say its related to your letting it go that low after the gas light went on, im sure it wont happen again, but its not too koshor to let it get that low again..............

Ok last night was the first time that I have ever heard the noise. Now it does it every time I shut my car off. Its like a kinda high pitched humming noise coming from what sounds to be the fuel tank. Its a solid noise and it does it for about 5 minutes after the car is shut off, any ideas of what this could be? Please help. Thanks

No, my car has no problems starting at all. It starts right up and then it runs well all day. Its just every time I shut it off I hear the humming noise coming from around the fuel tank. I havent driven the car for about 5 days before it started making this noise though, could that be it? I was out of town and my car just sat for 5 days, when I came back and drove it, it was making that humming noise when I turned it off. Someone please help. Thanks
