About the 2002 Maxima, you posted that it was only to be 255 HP, instead of 260 HP. However, "Automobile" Magazine said that it was a 260 HP. Just thought that I would let you know. Also, "Automobile" raped the 2002 Maxima. Saying that although it is a good looking car, the rear end still sucks on tight cornering. THey said that it is another Ford Taurus SHO. I think we need to gang up on these guys. Anyways, peace.

No, that is correct. Nissan at MAXUS stated that the 260hp rating was incorrect. It will have 255.

When the mags go to press, they are already a month out of date. The Maxima will have 255hp.

Ok guys, sorry about that, my bad. But what I don't understand is why Nissan giving their flag-ship vehicle a smaller engine than the secondary vehicle? Looks like we are being shoved out of the way.

It's still more powerful than the Altima...3.5L 240hp on the Altima vs. 3.5L 255hp on the Maxima.

But also take into the fact that the Altima is a smaller, lighter vehicle. I think it would be a CLOSE race. Depends on the driver.

Three strikes and you're out

Erik, you were wrong when you said this ...
it was only to be 255 HP, instead of 260 HP.

... and you were wrong when you said this ...
Nissan giving their flag-ship vehicle a smaller engine than the secondary vehicle

... and you were wrong when you said this ...
Altima is a smaller, lighter vehicle

You have been a fountain of misinformation on this subject. Please do your homework before jumping on Cheston or anybody else.

Oh man, the first time I've ever seen you post a "negative" post! Yeah yeah I know you were being sarcastic.

Actually on that last item, yes the Altima is larger, but it actually is a bit lighter than the Maxima I think.

I don't think Ramius has done much reading on the subject...it's been talked about numerous times on the board before.

actually guys.....as stated from Nissan dealerships, the AUTOMATIC maxs will have 255 hp....and the 6-speed SEs will have 260....how this works, I don't know....but that's what all the dealers say, I've even seen spec sheets, and one window sticker.

BTW, Most dealers are selling them around 2 grand over MSRP.
