Sup guys.
Please help me to choose whatever MOD I should do next..
After PR CAI and the bumper lights and the Tinting..
What to do..:
1. Altezzas (on white maxima) *looks GOOD* but no performence
2. Rims ... around 1000 $..expensive
3. exhaust (Greddy)
4. Y-Pipe.. illigle.. dont even know what that ACTUALLY does.. and don't know how much...

Sugesstions?

well...

do you want looks?
rims, tails (ugly)

sound?
exhaust

power?
Y-pipe. BTW, it's not for street use, but it'll pass inspection once warmed up, adds about 10-15 HP, and costs around $400. It works by freeing up the airflow from the exhaust headers to the catalytic converter. Doesn't make much noise either.

Get some 2000 17" SE wheels, hehe. I am biased(have them on my 95 SE), they would look sweet on a 4th gen. Y-pipe is a great add-on.
NO ALTEZZAs-They should be banned from Maxima installations, j/k. I personally don't like them.

Best of luck!

thanks for the correction mz
And for the Y-Pipe you don't need like exhaust or anything right? stock ones work too right?
... i think altezzas look GOOD...
here is a picture that made me think that.

Y-pipe

No question about it, unless you don't want performance.

sexima

the Y will work with a *completely* stock Sexima GLE, no problems whatsoever. The only reason to get aftermarket exhaust is for looks (I guess) and exhaust sound.

I still say the chrome in those 'Tezzas looks f u c k i n g UGLY!!!!!

Don't do it man.

Four Y-pipes

Cattman: www.cattman.com
Stillen: www.stillen.com
Warpspeed: www.warpspeedperformance.com
Budget: ??? Do a search in the forum

Cattman is the most expensive, but there is a good reason. The Y-pipe is about $400. It's made of 304 Stainless Steel, TIG welded, and a small flex section that is quiet.
This is the pipe that I recommend, but it is the most expensive.

The newest pipe is budget, but it's not mandrel bent (less air flow...aka less hp)and only a few people have them. But they only run $200.

what year is your max? did you encounter any fitment issues w/ the cattman (2.5" i assume).

what's your exhaust setup? i'm thinking of getting y-pipe (when i get some loot), but have read that the quietest setup is Y pipe w/ stock b-pipe and stock muffler (at the cost of some performance gains).

i like quiet!

oh and Sexima, i'm not big on Altezza's but I was at maxus and the guy from Oklahoma (forgot his name sorry) had the best looking tezzas i've seen.. however....i still wouldn't get em, but that's just me. it's ok to be different and do what you feel! so get em if you like em!

oh i live in MD so lemme know if/when you plan on ordering maybe we can get a group deal or group install (gotta save that $$)

That's shouldn't even be any doubts on what to get: Y-PIPE! Most power gain besides supercharger or nitrous. You WILL feel it.

You can keep the stock exhaust if you want the sleeper look. Then again, if do want the sleeper look, you probably don't want to buy aftermarket rims, get better/stickier tires. Depends on what route you want to go. I'm going for a little bit of show and more go.

taillights

i'll tell you what, i ahve a 96 max and can't find someone who has the clear/red tails... and that pic does make the altezzas look pretty sweet (did i just say that?) ... so i don't know.. i'm still up in the air.. just adding in my 2 cents worth of jumble... if anyone will just make me or sell me their clear/red's i'll gladly buy them.. or else i'm going to have to buy altezza's.. i can't stand that damn amber lense

You should get the red clear tail lights instead of the altezzas..they look better in my opinion

Unless I missed something don't Altezzas only work on 95-96? They wouldn't fit on your car if you did want them.

Maybe I'm the only one who noticed this, but I think it's a little ridiculous to argue about whether he should get altezzas anyways...HE HAS A 98. Those only go on 95-96, people...just a reminder. Red/Clear is the best taillight mod out there, IMO by the way...

I have the warpspeed and I'm replacing it with the Cattman Y-pipe that I just got Friday. I don't expect an fitament problems

I currently have the stock cat, b-pipe, and muffler. But I'm replacing the cat and B-pipe, but keeping the stock muffler. I'll let you know how the sound changes.
