I just had 215/60-R15s installed on my 96 GLE and wanted to know what tire pressure I should run. The sticker in the console is for the stock size. Any of you know off the top of your head the right tire pressure?

32 lbs should suffice, 44 lbs is too much.

Yeah 44 is WAY too much. I run 33 front, 31 rear with my 215/60 tires.

Remeber, these are cold pressures, measure in the morning before you drive anywhere.

I don't know what it says in the SE's console. It says 29/29 in my GXE console, but I run 33/31.

my center console ('96 GLE) says 29 rear & front. Now, should I leave it at that or is there a good reason to go up to 31-33? I run stock tires.

Thanks

A little less understeer, a little more grip, a little sharper steering.

Don't you get better grip (worse gas mileage) with lower pressures because more of the tire is on the road, and better gas milage (less grip) with higher pressures because less tire on the road means less friction?

Can somebody with a 95-96 SE please tell me what the sticker in the console says for tire pressure. I want to know what Nissan recommends. Thanks.

That theory applies to straight line traction. For cornering, the higher pressure makes the tire stiffer. This makes it deform less under lateral loads. Less deformation keeps more contact patch on the the road. Running more pressure in the front that the rear means the front has more grip, helping to reduce understeer.
