question on nissan's front brake shim kit

ok.. just bought new front pads from nissan and a new shim kit. this package is full of stuff i have never even seen before, let alone know what to do with.. is anyone familair with all these parts? some info would be real helpfull..

Well, if I remember correctly the front shim kit comes with the shims, retaining clips, and the anti-rattle springs, right? Well, you can get the Haynes manual and it will tell you exactly how to do a brake job on a Maxima. Or, you can start working your brakes, and it will be pretty obvious which parts you can replace with the new parts from the shim kit. The shims, well you know what they do. The anti-rattle springs clip onto little holes on the backing plates of the pads. And the retaining clip holds the brake pad in place.
