Do I reset ecu after changing O2 sensors???
#1
I did a search and came up with nothing under "ecu" or "ECU". I checked Cheston's page and came up with a poorly scanned "how to reset the ecu"
I have a 95 Maxima Se. My mechanic plugged his computer (snap on brand) and told me the front two O2 sensors needed to be changed. I did that. I was hoping for an increase in gas mileage also. I was getting 21 mpg. I was hearing that people here could get 25-26 with the same type of driving i'm doing. 50%freeway/50% street. .
So my question is....do I have to reset the ECU after change the 02 sensors to get optimal performance or proper performance?

You will find useful information in the Sticky ECU Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

cool...sticky shows a much clearer way to reset ECU. Does unplugging battery do the same thing? How long should you let your car sit with the battery off. thanks
