Yes, I am a newbie, but I have a legit problem!

I have a 1997 SE 5 Speed and today I noticed that the accelerator got very stiff. It is the weirdest thing, I can just tap it and the RPM's get very high when I am at idle and it is difficult to "floor" it. It almost feels like there is something holding it up like there is a block under it!

Please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks!
Jared

Feel free to flame on now. . .

Talk about over reacting and not checking the most simplest and stupidest thing (I checked a bunch of things under the damn hood).

I am going to bed now, it has been a long week. (Preparing for a Novell Netware 5.1 migration from 4.11 and a Domino R5 upgrade)(anyone who has done it will know what I am talking about!)

Well, it coulda been worse... Now, if you take your floormats out the car completely, that'll add 5-HP! ;-)
