Since the 1997 model year, 7000 Toyota Camry V6s have been made with 5 speed manuals, in various trim levels. Our own .org member gLok has one. They too are quite quick, every bit as fast as a 5 speed max. gLok himself ran a 15.0 stock and he knows a guy who ran a 14.9 stock. I emailed him a long time ago about this, and this is how I know.

For that matter, there are a bunch of cars with this configuration, a Taurus 3.0L Duratec 24V DOHC V6, Jaguar 3.0L 24V V6, Toyota 3.0 24V DOHC V6 (Camry, Solara, ES300), Lincoln LS has a 3.0L 24V DOHC V6, the Taurus SHO back in 1989 had a 3.0L 24V DOHC 220hp V6 engine...
However, I beg to differ on the Accord, it has a SOHC 3.0L 24v V6. Both the Accord and Camry use variable cam timing to help achieve their power.

Yes I know about the Camry V-6 5spds... but they're so rare... and cant forget the 95-97 Accord V-6 5spds even though it was a 2.7L
and SOHC and DOHC... close enough to me to call them very similar when they get almost identical power output

Actually the 3.0L V6 in the Camry sedan does not have variable valve timing. The VVTi V6 engine is in the Avalon and ES300 (and even in the Sienna minivan), but not in the Camry. Now for 2002 Camry, it may have VVTi.

These are similar but not quite. Jaguar did some additional tuning I believe. Or maybe Ford did. Not on the scale of Yamaha/Ford for the old SHO but... I could be wrong.

The Accord V6 has never been available with a 5 speed, but I suppose that since the engine is the same as the early Acura Legend, a 5 speed conversion might be possible. Too bad they are weak anyhow...

camry and accord auto v6's are every bit as fast as maximas. i have driven both. they are quick, but whisper quiet and very bland. i know max engines are quiet too but they seem to put out a little more grunt as far as sound goes. i like that. much more personality than accord or camry.

I own a 2001 Accord V6.. and its nice but... my GLE is much nicer.. faster and Quiter at 3000rpm... and my GLE has more then 30k more miles then my accord...

i hate stupid people, i really do. I just got done arguing with this kid about his civic, it's a mid 90's DX 5-spd. he's get a coffee can and that's it. 200lbs of stereo stuff and playa hates my car. he says he could beat me even with my nos. I brought my pink slip with me to his house, bottle heated all day and open and wanted to race and he wouldn't. But his car was still faster than me. I get ****ed at **** like that.
