Has anyone thought of taking the stock induction and fliping it upside down. I have a pop charger and left on the bottom of the airbox, however I took the air scoop from under the hood and cut it and rewelded the plastic. now it routes to the bottom of the car for some cool air. It looks factory and has all the advantages of the cai (without the oops I just hit a large puddle of water@#$%@#!@)

rework

I am getting ready to modify my intake.
I was considering a CAI, but I live in midwest with COLD winters. I think a POP charger would be more practical for winter months.

Can you give a little more description on your mod?

It really still doesn't match up to the ability of the CAI to havce access to cool air. That air scoupe doesn't not pass that much all. What you are doing is mixing cooler air with hot air. You may get some benifits, but still not like the CAI.

As for water and CAI. It's not a problem. I repeat, it's not a problem. the place racing CAI puts the filter in the wheel well where it is very well protected. Unless you submerge the front of your car in 3 feet of water, it is not a problem. I have had the CAI for 1.5 years... Houston gets crazy rain... I have never every had a single problem with it. It doesn't even get wet in downpours.

The filter is a good 1.5 feet off of the ground even on my lowered car.

SNOW?

What about snow...
I wonder if snow and slush would build up on the inside of the wheel well, covering the filter?
