$16 '98 poorman's gutter grill..

Ok.. That poorman's post about the gutter grill thing..
I did NOT KNOW it was a 96 year thing..
I have a 97.
So the bumper is really not supportive with this thing.
I took the whole damn thing off (excuse me for my language but I was outside in the sun for more then 2 hours trying to figure this damn thing out and now I know it's for older models)
And replaced it with the grill
here are some pictures

I'm not a big fan of this type of mod. It looks like a person with his/her nose cut off.

RE: Grill...

Sexima, I'm only telling this to you because you're one of my only VA Maxima people, and it looks ugly. What type of cosmetic makeover is that? You were right to call it a "comic" makeover because its makes me laugh . Anyway you should try to make it flush and then it would look nice. Or you could just put the old grill back on because I think they look nice. Just trying to help .

hahah Vyrus, I know you want to be honest, but that sounds kidna harsh . Personally, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. But if you aren't 100% satisfied with it, take it off. I really like how maxima grills look, stock, both for 95-96 and 97+. I hope you didn't break any part of the grill

That's what i thought. <scratching head>

Sexima... i personally dont think it matters what other people think. As long as you like it that's all that matters. After all, it is your Maxima and you are personalizing it the way YOU want.

RE: Gutter Mesh thing...

Actually Synki is right. If you like it you should keep it and then you will be the only person with it. Now that's custom.

I thought that the $2 makeover was for the very bottom inlet really. But yeah, I also thought of doing the grill too. Let's just say it looks "different" and definitely custom.

RE: Not on AIM...

My damn computer broke! I sent it to Compaq for repairs but I am hoping to pick it up sometime this weekend. After all it took the almost 4 weeks! Anywayz, this computer does not have AIM and I don't ever use it so I didn't bother downloading it. After I get my computer back I'll be on AIM again...I hope...unless they erased my harddrive or something.
Later,
Cyrus

I put the mesh on my 97 and I like the way it looks. I put it in the bottom inlet, and it fits perfect. The grill itself is another story. I put the mesh behind the stock grill, but you can barely see it. The bottom piece looks good. I'm gonna leave it on for now. If I can figure out how, I'll post some pics.

i put mesh behind the grill on my moms 98, and if you park a certain way and the light hits the chrome, you can see it. on my 95 though, i put it right on top of the existing grill and it definantly shows, and looks good, i have gotten many compliments on it. people cant believe i did it for a few bucks
