High idel revs?????

I've got a 95 SE 5spd. When I take it out of gear on occasions it will idle at about 1500 RPM. I haven't done any thing to try and fix it yet but I have messes with the throtle cable tension before. If any body knows what is going on, and what I can do please let me know. Thanx

the floor mat getting caught? may sound stupid but having it only happen occasionally...

Does this only happen when your car is warming up? Or when the AC is on. These two things will make the car rev high.
If the problem happened every time I would have some more ideas..
