i just got a muffler and the thing is so quiet it almost like stock and i dont no why , does the max have 2 resornators if i take one out will it sound better i was just woundering .

There is another resonator just upstream of the muffler, Stillen and Courtesy Nissan sell a "B-pipe" which will replace the piece with the resonator in it...

It should. Y-pipe makes exhaust louder AND gives more power.

What kind of muffler did you get? Mine is HKS; it was whisper-quiet when I got it, but got louder over time and also gets way louder when the engine is hot

 

I noticed that it made the exhaust louder... It's not a night and day difference but, if you know your car, you will notice it...
