There is a guy here in town that is pretty serious about buying my Max as is with the SC,ZEX,Y-pipe,Cat-back,etc.. he says he will pay $16K for it. Its a 97 GXE with 93K miles on it do you guys think this is a good asking price? After I sell it I am getting a 2002 WRX, im going to upgrade the turbo and intercooler it should be really fast. I love my Maxima a lot but have always wanted a WRX so this is pretty tempting. Just thought id post to get some opinions, oh the WRX is new to it has like 200 miles on it if that. Take Care

P.S. Flame me all you want, I would love to have AWD, Turbo and an Intercooler with less weight than our max's have!

Ohh i envy you lol. Do it and do not even look back, that is what i am trying to get. So if this guy is serious about buying the max, sell it for 16k and run, and use that as part of the downpayment on the WRX, tell me how things go.

Sell it.

Went to Kelly's Blue Book and added every option they have they have to offer for the GXE and came up with a price of $11,070 add in the supercharger and other mods and I think that the buyer gets his money worth and you get to buy and modify a car that I absolutely drool over. I would love to have a 4 wheel drive sports coupe. You are so lucky.

Whatever floats your boat man....if you want to trade looks, build quality, and room just for "performance" that's cool....go for it. Just remember, it's VERY easy to get too HP happy with AWD turbo cars....and ruin your diff and go through clutches like crazy. Ask any of the DSM guys....I know quite a few that bummed out Eclipses becuase they gave them too much boost for the drive system.

Ill be careful! There has just always been something about those WRX's that make me drool also. For now ill just do all the bolt on mods and then later on I may upgrade the Turbo and intercooler. It will be fast. I talked to guy today that wants my car and he said he would buy it as soon as his loan goes through. Hopefully ill have the WRX soon. Ill still come around the board though because I still love Maxima's and I like the people here and I have learned a ton so I wont just leave because I got rid of my Max. For now I need to go Race that Type-R and have one last bit of fun in the Maxima. Take Care

DO IT, the max is a awsome ride, yours sounds nice, but nothing can replace AWD and a turbo, and the only thing a max will see on the WRX is the taillights....

Get the Scooby!!! I want a WRX so bad right now, but I just got done buying my wife a 98 Legacy GT wagon. My WRX will have to wait. I can't decide between a wagon or sedan WRX. Did you see the new Sport Compact Car? They tested 6 WRXs. With just a boost controller, filter panel, and exhaust, they got a 13.6@100mph. With a turbo upgrade and ECU, they were getting high 12s. I'll take that any day. The only problem with the WRX is the clutch, which seems to be a user problem. When launching hard, you need to remember to slip the clutch for a split second. DO NOT fully dump it or you'll run the risk of it shattering.

sell it before he changes his mind!..

Think about your needs.... if you are looking for a car to have fun with, which you probably are, judging by the mods on your max, then GO FOR IT! That is a great price, even if you can get 14 for it, I'd say it's a good deal. I've seen 97 GXEs with your miles going for 9 grand. I paid 10, 11.5 with taxes and all fees for my fairly loaded 98 GXE with a sunroof, power seat etc.. with 57k miles. it was stock though... It would also be less hassle of getting rid of everything in a package without wasting time on ebay, other buyers and taking off mods.... It's hard to find a person who wants to buy an already modded car... I say go for it without a question. the subaru is a great car...
