I didn't get a chance to talk with him.......Well I'm pretty sure it was N/A 300z, I came up on him at highway speed. I waved as I passed his modded Z. He then started to get on it and I wasn't even looking for a race! So for the heck of it I pushed it. I was right on him! Are 4th gen. maxes as quick or quicker than earlier 300z's??

a good friend of mine owns a 94 naturally aspirated 300zx, 222hp 5spd. i remember reading a car and driver article several years ago comparing a n/a 300zx, supra, and I believe a lexus sc300 which are only n/a. the 300z 0-60 time is right around 6.5 seconds with 1/4 mile time of about 14.8-15.0 seconds. they might be a tiny hair quicker than a 5spd maxima. will obviously corner better though.

Well, it looks like my mods are working! We topped out at the 125/130mph range (due to traffic) and on the second run I had a car length and held it! I'm not sure I think I my have been pulling on him but he may have slowed. After that he faded, showing no interest. He also had a passenger. I was by myself.

If the Z was pre 1990 you should have walked all over him, and even beat up on the turbo. I raced a 1987 Turbo the other night, he was about 5 carlengths back at 60 mph - and I drive an auto. Now a 1990+ NA 300Z is a different story. I can beat them if they are stock due to my mods but if you are a stock auto - no chance. I think a stock 5-speed should fall back a little in the 1/4 since they usually run around 15.4's I think. Anyhow, nice race!

I had a n/a 91 300z with stillen intake and greddy exhaust for about 1 year. It was a five speed, but I think my 98 max is quicker. It also had 130k mile on it, and it had been driven hard for a few years. With out the turbo, they are not too much of a threat.

He had a 94-96 Z. My max is 99 5-speed with full exhaust, pop and udp! The only mods on him (that I could tell) was ss mufflers (perhaps cat back) and custom lighting. I would have to guess he's an enthusiast, because the car was clean!!

If it's an auto the Z32 300ZX NA are dogs. They run low 15s even with an intake, exhaust, and chip. Stock, they do high 15s. Most manual Maximas should be able to keep up with the auto Zs, if not beat them. Manual vs. manual would be close, but top end would most likely go to the Z.

What traffic travels at generally 125? Would make my morning commute half the time or better. Nice.

No traffic @ 125! Just the pockets in between.

Its good to see that the max is getting the respect. But when racing on the highway sometimes its about ho has bigger ***** and trusting your car.

Just be careful at speeds that fast. One false move and someone else gets an inheritance.
