I went back to the track tonight. I still had the subs n stuff in the trunk. I was running right around 15.95 all night. Not too bad considering. Anyway, head to head with a new RSX type S, he was running 17.2 or so all night. I wasted him. He had cut off his muffler becuase he was expecting a new one in the mail any day now and he had heavy 18 inch chrome rims too. He claims to have run 14.8 in the past...oh well.

Winning's winning.

Oh yeah, there was a stock GTP 4 door running about 15.1 each time...and he was a nice guy...who knew?

Yea...they aren't anymore powerful than our max's (overall, and if so not by much) But their soo freakn light and little...

The guy was either: A)Automagic driver, first stick ever, first time driving car. B)Blood alchohol level of .39

well, RSX-S does have 200hp, better gearing and 6-spd, w/ LSD (not sure). But Max has something most Hondas don't... TORQUE

But yea, an RSX-S would eat a Max alive, 5spd or no 5spd.. stock for stock, there is no chance.

Yeah, I have to agree that the RSX-S is pretty fast. I had a 97 Prelude and it was really quick but definitely weak on the low end. The RSX-S should be even faster than my Prelude was. BTW Type S is 6spd only with NO lsd. Only the Type R will have it.

Opps, my fault, I guess I am still thinking of the SE-R Spec V Sentra I know the RSX-S is 6spd only, I was talking about the max.... BTW, speaking of the SE-R.. I heard it's lighter than the RSX-S, that should be interesting if it's true, u get 20 less hp, but more Torque + HLSD.. should be an interesting car, is it safe to say mid to high 14s out the box?

Wanna bet? Stock we have the ground clearance alright. I've had my car 100% covered in mud before from going offroading before and it does pretty well too.

My dad has a '95 4WD explorer..fun to go off-roadin' in. I have a '95 Maxima..fun to go FAST in.

I knew we max's had some big *** lippage+clearance, but geez almost as much as an explorer ? I'll have to check this one out...

RSX...man, those things are ugly (imo). After driving a maxi, I don't know if I could ever go back to a 90%-high-end 4-banger with around 140ft/lbs of torque at like, redline (maybe not at redline, but you get the idea). My old G2 integra...man, just cruising around, you're always at like, 3.5k-4.5k RPMs. Always downshifting. I don't miss downshifting one bit (in the maxi, even at 2k, if you give it some gas to make a light or something, power/torque is there). Although the RSX should be able to perform on the track/autoX track. But it's like the S2000 in a way...I don't think I'd want to own one if I was just a daily driver looking for something "fun" to drive. Just the sound from the engine noting the lack of power when you hit the gas in those at 1.5-2k rpms...

The SE-R Spec V might be an interesting challenge, performance-wise (but still not visually attractive).

You are right about the Torque. I could peel out on my car when going around 10-15mph with out dumping the clutch.(no foot on the clutch)

Generic cone filter, plus leaving in bottom part of stock intake box=ghetto charger.

rsx

they have 200 hp. most likely can beat a stock 4th gen maxima or at least give it a good one, but a modified max would be a different story, ahem.

I went and looked at the RSX last week, I didn't get to test drive it because the only ones they had were already sold. It doesn't look like they did a very good job with it. I imagine it's pretty high compressed like the type R? I know there fast I've been awakened by one screaming past me one early morning during the commute. I've never been up against one personally.

Sorry, I havent had time to post more info. This guy couldnt launch worth crap. He would spinn like crazy and then let off...and then go. But even after that he never started to catch up to me...

Here's the slip. I'm car 808 reprezentin' the SMC baby!

Notice how the gap between our times at the various markers only gets wider as the race goes on...

Difference between him and me:

60' : 0.078
330' : 0.396
1/8 : 0.692
1000' : 0.931
1/4 : 1.121

I kept running away from him for the whole run...this is so wrong, he should have at least started to catch up.
