Im getting my Apexi WS catback put on at a local shop and I was wondering if (1) There are any O2 sensors after the cat, and (2) are there any special instructions I should tell the installers.

The Cat-back system supposedly comes with all gaskets, etc so I would anticipate a flawless install but for some reason Im never that lucky.

Thanks

97+ yes, 95-96 is in the cat, it pretty simple to mount a o2 sensor.

He's referring to the 97-99 models. The A'PEXi WS cat-back is a DIRECT bolt-on for 95-96 max's, their third o2 sensor is in the cat, and therefore not a factor. Everything you need for the install is in the box, and there are no special instructions.

BriGuyMax:

What are your thoughts on the APEXI cat back? (Sounds, performance, looks?) For some reason it's hard to get an opinion about it on this board.

Thanks

So, your getting a cat-back? That's cool. SOrry, I wouldn't know the sound and performance of the one your getting, but I do like the one I have. It's not a cat-back but it does sound nice and look good. I have one of those cheap OBX "APexi N1 Replica"'s and does just fine for me. If your going to the metro this weekend I'll show you it. Anyway, glad to hear you got an exhaust. Looks like you have been progressing since Maxus, you got the lip, rotors, and an exhuast? I only got my exhuast, the factory spoiler (still sitting in my room), and I decided to keep my Konig's (still sitting in my garage, but soon to get some tires). Well, let me know if your going this weekend. Sorry, I don't have damn clue about the Apexi WS.

I love the cat-back....it looks awsome....not "ricey" at all. It sounds awesome...nice mellow tone, not too intrusive. I also noticed performance gains with it. you can feel it from about 3K up. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I love mine. now that I have the y-pipe it is a lot louder but still nice and deep. I don't have hole for the rear O2 so I just tied the rear sensor off and have had no trouble for over 5 months.

Apexi

Ben: Yeah the lip is on and that looks real good, 2 of the rotors were cracked so basically I cant do jack with them but the front 2 were fine. I havent put those on yet since I have been unable to get my old rotors off. They are so stuck it's unbelieveable.

I should have the APEXi WS catback in a few days and when I take it to this local shop Ill ask them to do the rotors too-- maybe they have a puller to something. Im at school now so I wont be at the metro this weekend. I was wondering about your spoiler since I want to get one soon.

BriGuyMax: How long ago did you get your APEXi and also in what order did you get your catback in relation to when you got your Ypipe?

theblue: thanks for the pic, looks awesome, i can't wait

I got my A'PEXi in March, and I already had a y-pipe and intake. I think the cat-back nicely compliments the y-pipe becuase there is still restriction aft of the y-pipe with the stock exhaust.

Well, he needs to specify what year he has. If he's asking about the WS system one would have to assume he's a 95 or 96 since it's a direct bolt on for them. Regardless, there's an O2 sensor after the cat for the fourth gen. As mentioned, the 95-96 has the bunghole on the cat piping.

I thought I had, must have slipped my mind -- I have a 96.

Well, I got the spoiler for $86 + $19 S&H off of eBay from some dealer (spoilerws.com I think it was). It camed primed, so now all I have to do is get it painted. I have no idea where to get it painted, but I already know a shop that will install it. Where'd you get your lip painted?

Johnston's Auto Body in Fairfax painted the lip. The job is quality but Im really glad I spent the 4 bucks on Nissan Touch-Up paint -- it has been really useful in fixing little nicks from pebbles and rocks.

Yea, that Nissan paint works wonders. How much did they charge to paint your lip? You think it would be about the same for my spoiler?

They initially charged me 100 but later changed it to 130 because they said the paint was "more expensive" then they thought. I would assume that a spoiler would cost the same or maybe more because it as about the same size as a front lip but there is an underside which needs to be painted unlike the inside of the front lip which attaches to the front of the car.
