Hey everyone about a year ago someone keyed my trunk, its about 5 inches long and it is deep. Rust is starting to form on the scratch....is there anything I can do to stop it from getting worse?

 

You can TRY touch up paint, it may help some.

 

touch up paint will cover the scratch, but you will still notice the difference in the colors, and it may not work all that well if the scratch is already begining to rust. I am sorry to say hat you are going to have to face getting the trunk repainted.

 

If you want to stop it from rusting out, you can clean off all the rust then apply clear nail polish to the scratch. This should keep it from rusting as long as the nail polish is applied to clean metal. I don't know how long the polish will last, but it is a good temporary fix.

 

Yea, touch up paint may help some, it works wonders for my black 97GLE, I can't say for other colors, but if you do have a black max or any other color max, I recommend getting the touch up paint from the nissan delaer since they will give an exact match, but then again I'm speaking only froma black max driver.
