Need brake pads advice

My front pads need to be replaced and not sure if I should stick with factory pads or aftermarkets (ie. ebc, porterfield). If I happen to replace my front pads with aftermarket pads, do I have to change the rear pads to match the front pads? Which aftermarket pads are highly recommended? Thanks.....
