E-brake problems....need advice

I just recently was told that I need a new E-brake cable on my drivers side....it no longer works. However, after coming out of the gym yesterday where I parked my car using the e-brake...I removed the e-brake and the caliper was still clamped down. THis was on the PASSANGER side. DOes this mean I also have to order the passenger side e-brake because it siezed and needs to be popped out everynow and again? Or is there a way I can still salvage the one that is locking up and just replace the one ont he drivers side...as I had planned? I mean, can I do anything to the e-brake cable that still works? ANy help is much appreciated. By the way I did get the e-brake cable popped back after the sieze occured, but I just really dont want to throw away another 75 bucks on some sh-tty e-brake cable from nissan.

e-brake Cables..

The Genuine Nissan OEM e-brake cables are only around 40 some dollars from Courtesy Nissan (800-442-5257) ask for a discount mentioning Maxima.org.. or ask for Vince/Bruce/Butch.....

That's not expensive in my opinion.. Get it replace ASAP!
