Test loop?

What is that loop of wire for just up and to the left 3" from the oil fill cap? I have a '97 SE 5 spd.

This loop is provided for connecting a timing light inductive pickup. Please refer to the Haynes repair manual, page 5-10, photo 10.1.

You do have a copy of Haynes, don't you?

Check with any large bookstore in your town. If they don't have it, they can order it for you. Check with auto parts stores. You can buy Haynes from Web vendors such as www.amazon.com and www.bn.com . For more information, read the Sticky Max FAQs (READ BEFORE POSTING).
