Ideas for pass. airbag hole ??

My car's airbags where blown when I bought it and it had really ugly covers on both sides. I put a MOMO steering wheel on to get rid of the driver cover but the pass. is still looks like crap. I went ahead and took the airbag unit out so now I have a big hole in my dash. Anyone have any ideas what I can put there? Anyone have this same problem?

That's a good idea.

My wife wants a TV so she can watch it instead of the road because she HATES the way I drive. I had an aluminum plate cut for it but it craked when I tried to heat it so I could put that little bend in it. ****ed me right off!

Great!

I'll go down to the dealer and see what they've got.

I thought heat would make it (aluminum plate) bend easier. Guess not.

Put an airbag back in there!

What is going to save the passenger, an N64 or airbag? Sure, you might have more fun with a tv or something there in the mean time but I'm sure if (god-forbid) you get in a crash and you have no airbags you will regret anything else there, especially if there are injuries that an airbag could have prevented.

Get a 6.5-7 inch LCD screen and throw it in there. I didn't have a blown airbag but I was considering having one installed in there anyway a while back. The screen itself will only run you around 200 on ebay, and if you take it to a good car audio install place it should only run you $100-140 at the most. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Just drive careful without the airbag there!

hmm

isn't it illegal to remove air bags from the car?????

Anyways, it's a pretty handy storage there. I'd definately throw a TV in there that slides folds out as you put the cover up... That would kick **** no doubt

if it was illegal nissa dealer here in nyc would never sell airbag covers for ppl whose car airbags deployed during car accidents and cannt afford to buy new airbag system.

It is illegal to remove the airbag if it's functioning. I think if it went off during an accident, then technically noone a functioning airbag.

The airbag light was always on. When I put the importintelligence overlays in, I took the bulb out. I replaced my steering wheel with a 12" or 12.5" MOMO Monte Carlo (can't remember the exact size). I got it from www.ptuning.com . I had to buy an adapter to put the steering wheel on. All together it was around $160 for the wheel and the adapter.

Call me crazy but I'm not totally sold on airbags. They're about as iffy as seatbelts. Some instances they could save your life and then sometimes they do more damage than good. Some people swear by them and some hate them. I for one don't really care for them.

I dont know it is though, what confuses me is this. On my dads 2001 Chevy 1500 series pickup there is a spot on the radio section where you can put in the key to change between the airbag being on or off. If it is off it will not come out during a accident and if it is on the opposite. If it was illegal would they put this switch in there still?

When I put my Import Intelligence white guages in I took the bulb out of the airbag indicator. Other than that, I don't know how you'd get it off.

re: turn off light

you can try unpluging the comupter or go to the dealership and have them reset it for like 60 bucks.
