tranny conversion
i recently purchased a 1999 maxima se-l but it has an automagic tranny...i know its dissapointing but i fell in love with the car because its fully loaded and just a really nice car...anyways i am looking into doing a 5 speed conversion, and ive read about it in the past and i have heard of people doing it....has anyone done this? what are the affects of it, does it affect the motor in any way etc? also problems i might run into after the conversion. any info would be greatly appreciated.

NO effect on the engine. The tranny won't care. The ECU doesn't care. Any problems? The usual manny tranny problems.

Many parts required
I hope you realize the conversion requires many more parts than only the transmission. Go to http://www.stormpages.com/autoto5spd/ to see the parts list.
