Phase Ii Fender Flares Coming Soon!!

I been working with Sarona Design for a while now getting new fender flares for the Maxima. They are called PHASE II Fender Flares and will be complete in about a week and I will be the first seller to have them. Below is a picture of it on a civic, and I will have a picture of it on a Maxima very soon. Sarona Design will sell them for $450 a pair plus shipping, CustomMaxima.com will have them for $410 a pair plus shipping. Shipping runs $30.

IF ANY OF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THESE PLEASE REPLY TO THIS THREAD SO I KNOW HOW MANY THEY NEED TO MAKE.
Thanks,
Greg

Intrested to at least see how it comes out looking. If it is the whole fender I guess that is not too bad. But you still haveto get it painted and installed. What goes into having to install these? Is it doable by yourself or you need a shop to do it?

Too many unanswered questions...

What is it made of? How much does it weigh? Does this replace the stock fender (I'm guessing not) or simply overlay on top? If so, does it look 3-D? How will it work in conjuction with a body kit? How does it install? Tape? Screws? Any drilling or hole-making required? Will the Max. fender have the same design as the Civic (two larger, vertically stacked openings with upper horizontal gills)? I'm sure I'll have more questions... Thanks Greg.

damnit, greg!!! You are ALL over getting us stuff. You are doing on hellova job. Thanks for all your doing for us.
I actually like those fenders. But At 440 bucks, i just dont have the cash. Maybe in a year or so when they come down in price a bit. I do like em though... we should rig it up to suck in air or somthing functional.

It is a entire replacement for the factory fender. It goes right into the factory holes with no modification needed. It fits perfectly with the body kit. Sarona told me that it is very strong and in fact is stronger then the factory fender. Yeah it us a little bit pricey but they are the only ones that have it for out maximas.

Maybe someone can rig up an intake on the left side by relocating the battery? Or maybe it would help a pop-charger-style intake, it depends exactly where the vent is located.

It is probably not stronger than the factory fender. Considering it's made by Sarona. My bodykit already cracked and I didn't even hit anything. Sadly enough, I probably will get those fenders.

Question though, will we need to space our wheels out? How much of a flare is it? The H&R spacers are expensive if you have to get the 25mm and up ones.

I hope the fenders fit better than their body kit. Greg...What did you have to modify on your Sarona body kit. Jeff had to do alot body work, did you?

I'll pass on the fenders, thanks.
But would you mind asking Sarona to come up with a new grill for the '97s?
Think they might be willing?
Any of you out there interested?
I think the Trenz is ok, but not for me
and the stillen grill reminds me of a Pontiac
[no offence to you stillen grillers, just my 2cents]

yo - TILLEYS99 - how you get a price like that?
I got a quote for around 5k - more like 8K if it was a color very different from what's on it now.

Custommaxima -
That would be very cool - care to share any early sketches or thoughts on it?
One thing I don't like so much about the trenz grill is that they don't have the vertical
"parenthesis" on the insides next to the headlights.
I am not fond of the horizontal bar in the middle of the stock ’97 grill either.
OK, so I’m hard to please…
Whatever, please keep us posted, and Thanks!

It's really not pricey for what it is. Total fender replacements, think about it. Cheaper than making your own...

BTW, you really don't want the rear flares, you're looking at like $2K in bodywork to custom mold on rear flares.

But $1200 is still cheap for just the paint. I think it takes like at least 5 quarts to paint a car and Chromallusion is a lot per quart. My car is just IS300 blue and it was something like $700 for materials. You're getting a really good deal. Hope your car turns out nice.

Question about your front bumper. Did it fit perfectly? Or did the shop have to do some work to it? Did all the mounting holes line up? Let me know. Thanks.

The holes I know about, it's just my friend's shop had to do so much work to get it fitted and I wondered if it was just I got a bad one or if they were all like that. Did all the holes line up? On mine, none of the top ones right below the headlights would work, the bumper was about 1/4" too short. Was yours like that too?

Yeah, my fenders had to be pulled out about 1.5" at the bottom to line up with the kit. Just making sure I wasn't alone. Also, were your turn signal holes too small? I put my corners back in and it took off paint because the openings were barely big enough to fit the turn signals. And is there about a half inch gap below your headlights? Thanks.

It fits ok around the headlights, but if you look close on mine, there's a half inch gap, no big deal. We had to trim the turn signals too and drill holes to fit the grommet.

It's a Thruster wing made for a G20, the new style ones. Had to get the mounting points shaved some to fit the contours of my trunk.

Greg,

Yeah, if you can push, I'd be really up for a 97+ grill (nothing chrome and nothing 'Pontiacish') and a type II spoiler. Thanks for all you do.
