Noise after spring install
I'm still getting a slight noise when I turn left/right. I replaced the strut bearings (after I screwed up) Everything went perfect this time, but there is still a slight noise when I turn my steering wheel. Did anybody else experience this after a spring install? I know the bearings are in correctly this time(and there new). The strut rotates nice and smooth by hand with no load of course, but put a load on it and there's that slight noise again. Putting the stereo on of course eliminates the noise

Dam, again, still. I think you gotta get used to it. Just when you turn the wheel? No bumps involved?

Many fellow Maximas have that problem after lowering their cars. Many theories, still the problem persists for some of us... and that would be when you're turning the steering wheel (ie parking), you hear cranking/clicking sound from the front right suspension. It still makes that noise even AFTER replacing the upper strut mount and strut bearing. I gave up on trying to solve that issue.

I also noticed today that my strut/shock bolt spins after it's all tightened up. I think my strut mount, the rubber part has seperated. I'm not sure if thats going to cause a problem or not. I'm curious what Nissan wants $$$ for the mount.Anybody else want to comment about this noise??
Thanks peoples..
"Clicking noise"...
Sprint springs on stock struts and I have had NO probems, as people said I would. I tested the car after reading this post and still no problems
. Sorry I don't know what it is - maybe your springs or wear on struts. Just trying to help.

Ahhh man, who did this to your max?
1st, is the bumpstop cut on the shock that bangs?
2nd, use nut cutters to get the bolt off the rod that you broke. (same thing happened to me when removing the stocks) The cutters will cut that nut like butter.
3rd, Yes they can be mounted upside down, look for the lettering, if its upside down, so are the coils.
If you paid for this install you have 2 options, go back and demand it fixed as well as a refund, or better yet coast your car off the road and blame it on them ... lawsuit. Just kidding.
I had the noise before lowering. Instead of replacing my strut bearings, I covered them inside and out with lots of grease...now all I can hear is every little part of my interior rattling down the road...

I will find this noise!!!! Then I'm going to report back on exactly how to get rid of it. Seems like we all hear it from the right front. This is good info. Anybody else?
