RUbbing COmpound

Hi, whats rubbing compound, how does it work and what exactly does it do?

I don't think you want to use that on your car, especially clear coat finishes. I question polishing compound too....

Rubbing coumpund can work magic on a paint job, but remember it's like sand paper, never use it on a bumper since your bumper only has two coats of paint. I have used it to smooth out rough scraches. and i've also used it on my rear bumper and it removed the paint. Ooops!!
I'd be very careful with it!

Rubbing Compound

I work at a body shop and we use that stuff all the time. I have never heard of it taking off the paint. we use to it to buff scratches, get bugs off , and stuff like that. After applying, use swirl remover to get make it look good.

i used some compound on my rear door with some scrathes and all it did was created a light looking paint job in the area i rubbed it in, made it look 10x worse. If anyone has any idea how to fix that, then please let me know.
