4th Gen NOS People

I know exactly how an SC and Turbo works and I also know the fundamentals of how NOS works, but I don't know the small details. I'm pretty convinced a wet system is better for the Max.

However, this is what I want to do.

I want the kit to be installed in my spare tire area, but I still want to be able to put the lid on top of it so I can have my system there. I wanna run a 50-65 shot or so (something safe). I also want to have all the WOT sensors and crap like that.

Is there any way I can get the bottle to fit in that hole with the lid on? Also, what am I looking at for cost, labor to install, how long can I juice it for.

Also, do I have to open the bottle everytime I wanna NOS and then close when I'm done, or is there some way I can have it open when I want it and then automatically close it, or can I leave it open all the time?

Thanks in advanced.

Someone didn't search, did they?

In short, no, it wil not fit inside the spare tire well. All your other questions can be answered by reading this writeup by MardiGrasMax on ClubMaxima.com.

Like Greg mentioned, check out the write up by Mardi (matt) on the clubmax site. sx7r (thomas) did a write up on Cheston's site. You can also go look in the General Forum, look for the thread, "NOS for the Masses". This should answer most, if not all your questions.

No, the bottle will not fit in teh spare tire well & stay flush. I tried this myself.

As far as tehwet system, the smallest shot i know they have is a 70 or 75 shot. If you want a 50 or 60 shot, go for the NOS dry kit. Its very easy to install & very safe. 50 & 60 shot has the least potential of doing any severe damage.

the only way i can see fitting a nos bottle in the spare tire well, is using a small nos bottle/sneaky pete set-up... but it would be a real pain to have to remove your system to get to the bottle for refill.
are you looking to hide the nos system or just having room for your sound sytem

Brian,
IMHO, I would go with either a Dry setup, or Direct Port, but not a Wet setup, you have less control of your fuel to each cylinder. As already stated, the bottle won't fit in the tirewell, With a 10lb bottle, you can get about 8-10 1/4 mile runs, install would be about $2-300, but you can do it yourself, I would help ya if I still lived down there, You can get a remote bottle opener so you can open and close the bottle with the flip of a switch, or you will have to turn it on and off manually each time. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=63449

Good luck, and email me if ya got any questions.

Ok yewah I guess I'll go with the dryt or direct port. The thing about the bottle is, I don't want to remove my system, and I still need room in the trunk for my computers and parts. Also, it'd be nice to not see if when I open the trunk, but I guess I can't have it all??? I don't think those small bottles will have enough to squeeze a 60 shot and have a decent amoutn of runs.

You could get two or three sneaky pete bottles and some how run them all in series. But then you wouldn't able to use a conventional remote bottle opener. The bottle has to be easy access if this is your main power adder. If you have a SC and use nitrious for that something extra then the sneaky pete setup would be really cool.

With a l0lbs bottle and 75 shot, you can make around fifteen 1/4 runs.

Well you don't have to have it in your trunk at all right? Why can't you put it someplace else? do the sneaky pete set up and have it under the passenger seat. easy access to replace/refill it. quick to grab when you need to put that other car in its place... or am I just nieve?

$35-40 here.

BTW-i wouldnt put sneaky pete bottles under my seat. Not the smartest thing to do at all. Plus the bottles must sit @ a angle and there is not enough room under there. Sneaky pete bottles are good for 1 run
