First you take off the plate and then there are 2 large phillips screws that hold the bracket onto the bumper.

 

yea i did all that but i have this big mmounting piece that doesnt have any screws in it and i'm wondering how its attached haha not the frame or the license...

its a plastic mounting piece that the frame and license screw into... maybe someone knows what i'm talking about

 

i know those 2 large phillips screws are 10mm

I had to buy one cause my car came from a state that didn't require plates. I paid $40 for the bracket and 2 screws at my local Nissan dealer.

your talking about that black piece with the holes right? I dont think you can remove it. its part of the bumper I think. you can try removing the bumper and see whats holding it.

Does your plate bracket fit 95-99 bumper styles? Do all 4th gen Maximas have the same plate brackets? If so, I'll be at the Union around 10:30-11:20 on the second floor by the couch section, the bigger section nearest to the theater entrance.
